Do you want to be part of building out next generation SaaS products that power the automotive industry?

JATO is currently hiring for a Data Engineer to join our Agile teams. As a Data Engineer, you will work within the Product Delivery team using your ETL skills to model, warehouse, and store data at scale in the cloud.

In addition, you will work closely with colleagues in Operations, Architecture, Delivery, Product, Support, and Engineering to collaboratively release platform increments.

Key Responsibilities*

  • Model, warehouse, and store data at scale in the cloud
  • Work closely with colleagues in Operations, Architecture, Delivery, Product, Support, and Engineering to collaboratively release platform increments
  • Ensure a good understanding of the needs of your users be they JATO staff, external customers, or fellow engineers
  • Contribute toward solution level architecture and design
  • Own your release from development to production
  • Continuously enhance your knowledge base and skillset

Key Requirements

  • Experience in designing and developing complex ETL pipelines in the cloud (Azure Data Factory or equivalent AWS/GCP services)
  • Experience modelling data based on high level requirements
  • Firm understanding of data warehousing concepts
  • Knowledgeable about the different types of cloud-based storage resources (Blob, CosmosDB, DynamoDB, etc.)
  • Must have exceptional communication skills, verbal and written in English
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
  • Passionate about software engineering, quality, and constant learning
  • Desire to help others improve through mentoring
  • A good grounding in technical theory and practice
  • Experience in creating detailed support and technical material
  • The ability to work towards tight deadlines
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.) and writing queries
  • Analytical and exploration skills (Analysis, Reporting, BI)
  • Agile methodology
  • Experience working with API’s
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture
  • Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD
  • Knowledge of Git repositories
  • Understanding of compliance and lifecycle of data management

Desirable Skills

  • Coding experience in any relevant language (Python, curl, C#, etc.)
  • Experience working with Azure Synapse, Databricks, and/or similar technology
  • Access control and security
  • General experience working on cloud solutions in Azure/AWS/GCP
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience automating test cases
  • Experience working with non-relational databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Experience working in the Atlassian stack (Confluence, JIRA, BitBucket)
